The method

My approach

Six steps, from our first call to long after launch.

The idea

A communications project is a collaboration, not a transaction.

Here is how we will work together, from our first conversation to the day-to-day management of your website or your communications.

Every step earns its place. Each one lets you move forward knowing exactly where you stand, with no unpleasant surprises and no commitment beyond what you choose.

The path

The six steps

Each one closes with your sign-off before the next begins.

  1. 01

    Discovery

If you wish, I’ll give you private three-day access to the Belhavre site that best matches your sector. If your field isn’t represented in town yet, you get access to the closest site, whose features and quality transfer directly to yours.

You explore freely, test the features, and assess the work I deliver. This step involves no commitment. It simply tells you who you are dealing with and what you can expect.

Most misunderstandings in this industry stem from misaligned expectations. This discovery step prevents them from the outset.

  2. 02

    Listening

Once you have seen Belhavre, we schedule a first conversation, by video call or in person if you are in the area. This conversation lays the groundwork.

I ask about your business, your values, your target audience, your products or services, your competitors, your budget and timeline, and your ambitions. I listen far more than I speak. You tell me about your project, and we refine it together.

In the days that follow, I send you a quote outlining the scope, timeline and proposed fees. You remain under no obligation at this stage.

Some projects call for upfront analysis or detailed specifications before any design work begins. That work then becomes a separate mandate, quoted according to its scope.

  3. 03

    Design

Once the proposal is accepted, I prepare a complete working direction. On a web project, it covers palette, typography, editorial voice, sitemap and sample layouts. On a consulting mandate, it covers positioning, strategic priorities, editorial structure and a production plan.

You approve the key decisions before I build anything. This is where your project takes on its identity. Nothing is imposed. Everything is discussed, adjusted, and signed off with a clear understanding of why.

  4. 04

    Build

I develop your project week by week, in line with the direction you approved. For websites, you watch the work take shape step by step through a private preview link I share with you.

At milestones set in advance, I share interim versions for your feedback. This ongoing back-and-forth prevents unwelcome surprises and ensures the final deliverable matches what you envisioned.

This phase requires your availability for feedback rounds and approvals. Its timeline depends directly on your responsiveness.

  5. 05

    Handover

Once the project is ready, I implement what we agreed on and hand over the keys. A website handover includes setting up your hosting, domain name, professional email and forms, all under your own accounts. A consulting handover includes the final deliverables and support as you roll them out across your teams.

I then train you to manage your website or strategy independently, in a session by video call or in person, as you prefer. Video sessions are recorded for future reference, and you receive a written guide tailored to your project.

You own everything outright, with no technical dependency or vendor lock-in. If you would rather leave the upkeep to me, a maintenance plan can take over from there.

  6. 06

    Support

A website or a communications strategy is a working asset that keeps evolving with your organization, well beyond the day it is delivered.

I stay your point of contact for adjustments and future changes. Depending on your needs, this work is done on a pay-as-you-go basis or under the maintenance plan you chose at handover.

What comes next

The first step is access to Belhavre.

If this approach speaks to you and you have a project or a mandate in mind, the first step is access to Belhavre. Send me a few words about your business, and I will set up your access within a few days.
